AbstractA new approach to induce self-vertical phase separation of nanoparticle/polymer hybrid solar cells is reported by introducing fluorinated small molecules into the active layer. The formation of a vertically gradient structure improves not only polymer organization but also charge transport efficiency, thus increasing the photovoltaic cell performance by a factor of 5.
